Wein on the Water is one of the most unusual format events of the Koblenz Wine Festival. The pop-up wine cruise combines regional wine culture with a boat trip on the Rhine – and thus two of Koblenz's most important identity elements.
MS Stadt Vallendar
The event takes place on board the MS Stadt Vallendar, a classic Rhine passenger ship with three decks. Each deck can have its own atmosphere: festival wines and catering on the main deck, dance floor and DJ booth on the upper deck, cozy lounge on the lower deck.

The 2026 season includes three wine cruises:
- May 23, 2026, 5 PM to 11 PM (Evening Cruise): already sold out.
- June 14, 2026, 12 PM to 5 PM (Day Cruise): Availability upon publication.
- June 27, 2026, 5 PM to 11 PM (Evening Cruise): already sold out.
Program
Festival wines will be served on board – a cross-section of the Mosel, Middle Rhine, Ahr, and Rheinhessen wine regions. DJ Copy & Paste will be playing on the dance floor, with catering offering snacks and small dishes.
Getting There
Departure is from Pier 9 at Konrad-Adenauer-Ufer, in close proximity to the Deutsches Eck. Easily accessible on foot from Koblenz Central Station (about 20 minutes) or by bus.
Wein on the Water — edition 2026
The 2026 edition runs on three dates, combining a day cruise with two evening cruises. The evening cruises are already sold out. For the day cruise on June 14th, places may still be available depending on booking status.
Programme Wein on the Water 2026
2026 Program:
- May 23, 5 PM–11 PM (Evening Cruise, sold out): Cruise with sunset over the Middle Rhine Valley, festival wines, DJ Copy & Paste.
- June 14, 12 PM–5 PM (Day Cruise): Midday trip downstream and back, festival wines, live music, relaxed atmosphere.
- June 27, 5 PM–11 PM (Evening Cruise, sold out): Same as May 23rd.
Onboard:
- Festival wines – a cross-section of Mosel, Middle Rhine, Ahr, and Rheinhessen.
- Dance floor on the upper deck with DJ Copy & Paste (evening cruises).
- Catering with snacks and small dishes.
- Three decks for different atmospheres.
