The WEIN.EVENT "Rotwein im Glas" is the autumnal sister event to the spring WEIN.EVENT "Rosa Leuchten im Glas" — both events form the annual framework for Neustadt's Experience Sundays. Just as April features the spring festival with rosé and sparkling wines, the November Experience Sunday is dedicated to red wines and sparkling wines.
The 2026 edition falls on Sunday, November 8 — the fourth and final Experience Sunday of the year in Neustadt. The venue is the entire city center with the historic Town Hall as the central tasting location.
The program is divided into two parallel areas:
1. Autumn Market and Sunday Shopping (11 am–6 pm)
Throughout the city center — Maximilianstraße, Marktplatz, Hetzelplatz — an Autumn Market with regional producers and craftspeople enlivens the pedestrian zone. Seasonal products such as Palatinate chestnuts, plums, Federweißer (new wine), and autumn vegetables are the focus. Shops are open on Sundays exceptionally.
2. Wine Tasting in the Town Hall (1 pm–6 pm)
In the historic Town Hall, approx. 100 red wines and sparkling wines are available for tasting. The focus is on Palatinate Spätburgunder, Dornfelder, Cabernet Sauvignon, and international blends — the Palatinate has experienced remarkable growth in red wine production in recent decades. In addition, German red wines from other regions and competitive sparkling wines are also offered.
The ticket costs €20/person, is limited to a certain number, and includes the tasting glass and free access to all tasting booths. Early arrival is recommended, as tickets are usually not available all afternoon.
A special addition is the Old Town Tour on the morning of November 8 at 11 am: The guided tour through Neustadt's Old Town offers a perfect complement before the wine tasting. Marktplatz, Stiftskirche, Rathaus, and medieval alleys are presented in about an hour and a half.
WEIN.EVENT Red Wine in the Glass — edition 2026
The 2026 edition continues the established format of the Palatinate Experience Sunday: Autumn Market, Sunday Shopping, and thematic wine tasting in the Town Hall. The exact program for 2026 will be published by the organizer in the autumn. The structure follows the proven key points of previous years:
The event is part of the rich Palatinate festival culture, which attracts thousands of guests to the Neustadt an der Weinstraße region every year. The combination of wine culture, Palatinate hospitality, and established festival traditions forms the unmistakable identity of this Palatinate festival institution.

11:00 am — Morning Program
Opening of the Autumn Market in the city center. Shops open. Start of the Old Town Tour with Tourist Information (separate registration).
11:00 am–6:00 pm — City Center
Autumn Market with regional vendors: Palatinate chestnuts, plums, Federweißer, autumn vegetables, crafts. Sunday Shopping.
1:00 pm–6:00 pm — Town Hall
WEIN.EVENT "Rotwein im Glas": Tasting of approx. 100 Palatinate and German red wines and sparkling wines. Palatinate Spätburgunder, Dornfelder, Cabernet Sauvignon, international blends. Admission €20/person incl. glass.
6:00 pm — End of Festival
Regular end of the Experience Sunday.
