Largest wine fair in the Palatinate with over 140 producers and over 800 Palatinate wines in six historic locations
Wein am Dom Speyer is the largest wine fair in the Palatinate and one of the most important wine events in Southern Germany. Over 140 Palatinate wine producers present over 800 wines in the historic city center of the UNESCO World Heritage city of Speyer during a single weekend in April. The Palatinate is Germany's second-largest wine-growing region after Rheinhessen and is particularly known for Riesling, Pinot Blanc and Pinot Noir, Dornfelder, and numerous other grape varieties.
The sheer size of the fair is impressive: Over 140 Palatinate wine producers present over 800 different wines. Wein am Dom thus offers a comprehensive overview of the diversity of Palatinate viticulture, from small family businesses to renowned wineries. Enthusiasts can sample an exceptional range and engage directly with the winemakers.
The fair is spread across six historic locations in Speyer's city center:
This distribution makes visiting the fair a stroll through the historic city center: visitors can experience Speyer and its sights between the venues.
The accompanying program includes:
Opening hours are 12 PM to 6 PM on both days. A day ticket costs €35, and a two-day ticket costs €50. This makes Wein am Dom a high-priced event aimed at serious wine lovers and professionals from the gastronomy sector.
The organizer is Pfalzwein e.V., the umbrella organization of the Palatinate wine industry, in cooperation with the City of Speyer. The fair is part of the marketing strategy of the Palatinate as a wine region and a platform for Palatinate winemakers to present their products to a broad audience.
The 2026 edition continues the tradition as the most important wine event in the Palatinate. Thousands of wine lovers as well as trade professionals from gastronomy and commerce are expected over the weekend. The combination of high-quality wine tasting, a historic city center backdrop, and Speyer's attractions makes Wein am Dom a must-attend event in the Southern German wine calendar.
