The approximately 100 exhibitors at the Christmas market are spread across the church forecourt and the market square in the center of Osterholz-Scharmbeck. This makes the market one of the larger Advent events in the district. The offerings range from regional handicrafts – pottery, woodwork, jewelry, textiles – to Christmas decorations and classic market gastronomy with mulled wine, bratwurst, potato pancakes, and candied almonds.

Medieval Flair

Part of the market is inspired by the Middle Ages: craftspeople in historical clothing, old tools, open fires, and medieval music create an atmosphere that sets the market apart from the usual classic Advent markets. This presentation has been a hallmark of the event for years.

Advent concerts take place in the nearby St. Willehadi church, connecting the market activities with contemplative moments.
