Family Advent market around Picker's Saal in Lutten, a district of the municipality of Goldenstedt in the Vechta district
In the Lutten district of the municipality of Goldenstedt — known primarily for its proximity to the Goldenstedt Moor nature reserve — the Weihnachtsmarkt Lutten has been one of the most convivial Advent events in the region for years. The Heimat- und Geschichtsverein Lutten (HGV) traditionally hosts the market in and around Picker's Saal, a typical village inn in the center of the village, whose historic hall and courtyard provide the perfect setting for the Christmas event.
In Picker's hall, members of the HGV and friendly associations serve homemade cakes and coffee, while stalls for mulled wine, children's punch, bratwurst, and small snacks are set up outside. The combination of a warm hall atmosphere and a wintry market square creates a special, very family-friendly atmosphere that sets the market apart from typical city center Christmas markets.
Regional craftspeople offer woodwork, felt items, embroidery, Advent wreaths, and Christmas decorations at the market stalls. Homemade jams, liqueurs, honey, and cookies from the kitchens of the Lutten farming communities are also part of the regular assortment. Many stalls are run by associations, with proceeds benefiting youth and community work.
The market primarily sees itself as a social anchor of village life in Lutten. School and kindergarten families, members of the volunteer fire department, the rifle club, the sports club, and the local history society meet here. School choirs, brass ensembles, or small performances complement the program.
Admission to the Weihnachtsmarkt is free. Proceeds from the volunteer-run stalls benefit community projects and collaborative work in Lutten.
The 2026 edition of the Lutten Weihnachtsmarkt will build on the successful previous years. The Heimat- und Geschichtsverein Lutten organizes the café area and market stalls together with the other local associations. The hall and outdoor area at Picker's form the spatial center.
The organizer traditionally bases the date selection on the 2nd or 3rd Sunday of Advent; final confirmation will be made in the fall.
The exact program for 2026 will be published by HGV Lutten in the fall. The structure follows the proven key points of previous years:
