Sauerland's Free Summer Concert Series

WarsteinLive is one of the most successful free open-air concert series in the Sauerland region: four Thursday evenings in June, each featuring a high-quality cover band or tribute act, always starting at 7:00 PM until 10:00 PM, always on the St. Pankratius church forecourt in downtown Warstein. The 2026 programme includes four concerts on June 4th, 11th, 18th, and 25th, 2026.

The 2026 Line-up

The four concerts attract a different musical spectrum each time:

• Thursday, June 4th, 2026 — The 80s90s Liveband: Nostalgia cover band with the greatest hits of the 80s and 90s. Sponsor: Infineon Technologies.
• Thursday, June 11th, 2026 — THE SERVANTS: Classic rock specialists with over 50 years of stage experience. Sponsor: Volksbank Hellweg eG.
• Thursday, June 18th, 2026 — MANIAC: Cover band from Paderborn with rock and pop hits from five decades. Sponsor: AEG Power Solutions.
• Thursday, June 25th, 2026 — SHARKS: Participating for the fifth consecutive year, rock hits from three decades. Sponsor: Sparkasse Hellweg-Lippe.

Success Record and Concept

The series has been a complete success since its establishment: Around 15,000 visitors at the previous 15 events — averaging 1,000 visitors per concert. The concept is convincing due to:

• Consistent free admission
• Thursday evening as a relaxed end to the week
• The church forecourt as an atmospheric open-air setting
• Cover and tribute bands with high recognition value
• Sponsorship model that finances free participation

Drinks System and Card Payment

Drinks are offered via a voucher system: €3 per 0.3-liter drink. Alternatively, visitors can purchase a reusable event cup for a one-time fee of €3.50 — valid for all four 2026 dates. New for 2026: Card payment via Volksbank will also be accepted on-site.

Warstein in the Sauerland

Warstein is a town with around 25,000 inhabitants in the Soest district in North Rhine-Westphalia, located in the northeastern Sauerland. The town is known regionally as the home of the Warsteiner Brewery — one of Germany's largest private breweries. St. Pankratius Church in the town centre, with its large forecourt, forms the town's natural stage for open-air events like WarsteinLive.
