Open Shoot for All Citizens
The Volkskönig- und Volkspreisschießen is an expression of a democratic tradition in German marksmen's culture: it opens the title of king not only to club members but to all interested citizens. This creates broad participation, making the marksmen's festival a celebration for the entire village. The Dorstadt Marksmen's Association (Schützenverein Dorstadt e.V.) cultivates this tradition with great commitment and welcomes every new person who steps onto the shooting range.
Two Shooting Evenings at the Schützenheim
The two dates on June 15 and 22, 2026, both start at 6 p.m. at the Dorstadt Schützenheim. Experienced marksmen will be on hand to gently introduce beginners to the basics. Several series will be shot with an air rifle, which will be included in an overall ranking. The association will also provide refreshments – a cozy summer evening in a convivial marksmen's atmosphere.
King's Proclamation in August
The shooting season concludes with the festive King's Proclamation ceremony on August 29, 2026, as part of the Dorstadt Marksmen's Association's Open Day. On this day, the most successful shooters will be officially proclaimed Volkskönig or Volkskönigin 2026 and will hold the dignity of the citizens' shooting majesty for one year.

Community Shooting in June
The two shooting evenings are part of the annual marksmen's season and are deliberately aimed at the broader village community. Those participating for the first time will be kindly guided – prior experience is not required.
