Klein Sisbeck is a district of the municipality of Velpke in the northeastern Helmstedt district. The small, rural community thrives on its intact club life and close-knit village community. The SSC Klein Sisbeck is the central club of the district.

SSC Klein Sisbeck as a Multi-Sport Club

The Sport- und Schützenclub Klein Sisbeck (SSC) unites sports, shooting, and club life under one roof. This multi-sport structure is typical for small villages in Lower Saxony, where individual disciplines would have too few active members on their own. The joint Volksfest is an expression of this multi-sport structure — sports, shooting, and socialising under one roof.

Sports Competitions as a Special Feature

Unlike pure shooting festivals (Schützenfeste), the SSC's Volksfest integrates sports competitions into the festival program. Football tournaments, volleyball tournaments, children's sports days, or family sports programs can be part of the weekend. Thus, the festival appeals to both the sports and shooting factions, and of course, the entire village community.

King's Shooting (Königsschießen)

The SSC's Volksfest also features king's shooting (Königsschießen) from shooting tradition. The new shooting king, along with his court, will lead the club's social activities for a year. The festive proclamation of the king is a highlight of the festival weekend.

Marquee with Live Music

Evening dance and program events take place in the marquee. With a live band or DJ and catering, the social gathering becomes the highlight of the festival days. Catering is handled by the club itself — an important source of income for the club's treasury.

Family Day on Sunday

Sunday morning features the morning pint (Frühschoppen) with brass music. Sunday afternoon is family-oriented: children's shooting, bouncy castle, games, sports days for children, and catering. The Volksfest ends on Sunday late afternoon.
