The Volksfest Ismaning is a fixture in the event calendar of the municipality of Ismaning in the district of Munich, Bavaria. Organized by the municipality, it combines Bavarian inn culture, club traditions, and family entertainment into a convivial spring festival.
Parade and Wooden Barrel Tapping
The highlight of the opening is the traditional parade of local clubs and flag bearers from the castle to the festival grounds, led by the Augustiner show wagon and accompanied by the Ismaning brass band and the Feldkirchen brass band. With the ceremonial tapping of the wooden barrel by the First Mayor, the folk festival is officially opened.
Festival Tent and Delicacies
In the festival tent, Augustiner beer flows from a wooden barrel, accompanied by Bavarian folk festival delicacies and a daily lunch menu. Live music and festival tent activities ensure a lively atmosphere throughout the festival days.
Vintage Car Meet to Conclude
The festive conclusion on the last day of the festival is the traditional Ismaning vintage car meet: After a traditional white sausage breakfast and club reception, historic vehicles roll onto the festival grounds and parade through the municipality. An additional folk festival run for children rounds off the family offerings.

Volksfest Ismaning — edition 2026
From May 6th to 10th, 2026, Ismaning will celebrate its traditional folk festival. On Wednesday, the parade of local clubs with the Augustiner show wagon and the wooden barrel tapping by the First Mayor will open the festival. On the following days, the festival tent invites you with Augustiner beer from a wooden barrel and folk festival delicacies, complemented by a children's folk festival run. The 14th Ismaning vintage car meet with a parade will conclude the event on Sunday.
