Almost 100 Years of Volksfestgemeinschaft

The Volksfestgemeinschaft Groß Ilsede was founded in 1928 and has been the organizer of the annual folk festival ever since. With almost a century of continuous tradition, it is one of the oldest community associations of its kind in the district of Peine. The Volksfestgemeinschaft is a typical example of the voluntary festival culture in Lower Saxony villages: an association of various clubs that jointly organize a festival that a single club could not manage.

Festival Grounds on Schulstraße

The Groß Ilsede festival grounds are located on Schulstraße in the center of the village. During the three festival days, a complete festival area is set up here with a large festival tent, stage, rides, and catering stands. The central location ensures that the festival is easily accessible on foot and can also be easily visited by older residents.

Rides and Amusement Park

With the dodgems and the Jaguar railway, the Volksfest Groß Ilsede offers two classic rides that are particularly popular with young visitors. These rides are not only independent attractions but also popular meeting points for young people from the surrounding villages. They are complemented by stalls, shooting galleries, and food stands.

Program with Children's Disco and Star DJ

The Saturday program offers an unusual mix. In the afternoon, the Ilseder Mädels will play at the children's disco, which is the first disco experience for the youngest visitors. From 10 p.m., DJ Chriz Rock from the regionally known radio station 89.0 RTL takes over and gets the dance floor going. This mix of intergenerational offerings is characteristic of a village folk festival that aims to appeal to families and young people alike.

Family Offer on Sunday

Sunday is dedicated to the family. A children's afternoon with games, activities, and small gifts ensures that even the youngest visitors have a wonderful festival day. The festival community consciously understands Sunday as a family day and avoids overly loud or late-night program points.
