About GUUDE! Summer Festival
GUUDE! — the quintessential Mainz greeting — not only gives this festival its name but also its program. Organized by mainzplus Citymarketing GmbH as part of the Summer in the City concert series, GUUDE! is the deliberately regional day within an otherwise internationally oriented program. While the other Summer in the City dates bring international headliners like Foreigner, Garbage, or Joss Stone to Mainz, this Saturday afternoon belongs to the local stages.
The venue is the Mainz Citadel, the baroque fortress on Jakobsberg, which is one of Germany's most beautiful open-air locations with its views over the city and the Rhine. Gates open at 3 PM, and the audience will experience an afternoon and evening with consecutive performances by regional acts.
Confirmed for 2026 are, among others, Die Humbas, one of the most popular Mainz Carnival and dialect cover bands with a large audience far beyond the region; Handkäs und sei Mussig, a duo with a keen sense of Rheinhessen humor and musical versatility; and Hollebutz, another Mainz institution in the regional music and comedy scene. The program will be complemented by other local acts that convey that very special mainzgefühl — a mix of joie de vivre, self-irony, Carnival tradition, and urban self-confidence.
GUUDE! is aimed at an audience from Mainz and Rheinhessen who want to celebrate their local artists under one roof — and at visitors who want to experience the Mainz feeling for life in a single event.

Das Programm 2026 wird vom Veranstalter im Frühjahr in seiner vollständigen Reihenfolge publiziert. Die Struktur folgt den bewährten Eckpunkten der Vorjahre: Einlass am späten Nachmittag, mehrere aufeinanderfolgende Live-Auftritte regionaler Bands und Solo-Acts auf der Hauptbühne der Zitadelle mit kurzen Umbaupausen, gastronomische Versorgung durch Mainzer und rheinhessische Anbieter mit Spundekäs, Spätburgunder, Bratwurst und vegetarischen Optionen. Höhepunkt jeweils am späten Abend mit einer der profilierten Mainzer Headliner-Bands.

Location and Travel
Mainz Citadel, Auf der Bastion Drusus, 55131 Mainz. From the main train station by bus or a walk of about 25 minutes through the old town. Public transport or walking is recommended — parking capacity on Jakobsberg is limited.

Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 3 PM admission and festival start at the Citadel.

Advance sale via the Summer in the City ticket shop at Reservix. GUUDE! is a separate ticket within the Summer in the City series.
