One Day, Many Stages
The Vogelwuids Music Festival is a one-day music and street food festival in the historic centre of Berchtesgaden, in the market town of the same name in the Berchtesgadener Land district of Upper Bavaria. Around the Weihnachtsschützenplatz and in the alleys of the old town, over 100 musicians perform on several stages – the range of styles extends from folk music to indie, rock, pop, classical, and jazz.
Courtyard Concerts and Big Band
A special feature is the courtyard concerts: intimate performances take place in the courtyards of the old town, away from the main stages. The musical highlight is considered to be the Keller Steff Big Band, which shapes the festival as the headliner.
Children's Festival and Street Food
In parallel, the Vogelwuiden Kids Festival runs from 12 PM to 6 PM in Dr.-Imhof-Straße with a programme for the youngest visitors. Local restaurateurs and numerous street food and drink stands offer regional specialities and international cuisine – making the festival a culinary as well as a musical experience.
Town Festival in Berchtesgadener Land
Vogelwuids is organised by the Aktive Unternehmen Berchtesgaden e.V. (Active Businesses Berchtesgaden Association). For one day, it enlivens the historic market community at the foot of the Berchtesgaden Alps, bringing together locals, guests, and the regional music scene for a atmospheric summer festival.
Vogelwuids — edition 2026
Vogelwuids 2026 runs on Saturday, August 1, from 12:00 PM to 11:00 PM in the historic centre of Berchtesgaden around the Weihnachtsschützenplatz. Over 100 musicians will perform on multiple stages, complemented by courtyard concerts in the old town's inner courtyards. The headliner is the Keller Steff Big Band. In parallel, the Vogelwuiden Kids Festival runs from 12 PM to 6 PM in Dr.-Imhof-Straße. Local restaurateurs and numerous street food and drink stands provide culinary delights. The organiser is the Aktive Unternehmen Berchtesgaden association.

Getting There
Berchtesgaden is located in the Berchtesgadener Land district in the far southeast of Bavaria. Accessible by train (Berchtesgaden station) and via the B305/B20 federal roads. The festival takes place in the historic centre around the Weihnachtsschützenplatz.
Admission
Festival wristband €15, children up to 15 years free. The wristband grants exclusive access to backstage concerts and discounts at stands, among other benefits.
Tip
The courtyard concerts in the alleys of the old town are an insider tip – a festival wristband is worth it for full access.
