Town Festival in the Schwarzwald-Baar District
Vöhrenbach is one of the small high-altitude towns in the Schwarzwald-Baar district — located at around 800 meters above sea level, characterized by Black Forest woods, meadows, and an active club landscape. Approximately every two years (in even-numbered years), the Stadtkapelle Vöhrenbach, in cooperation with the town, hosts the Vöhrenbach Town Festival — a well-established summer event that gets the whole town buzzing for three days.

In 2026, the town festival falls on the weekend of July 17th to 19th. The biennial rhythm allows the many volunteers in the clubs to put their best foot forward together, without competition from other club festivals. Unlike the commercial summer festivals of the Black Forest towns, the Vöhrenbach Town Festival remains clearly family-oriented: catering stands run by the clubs, concerts by the Stadtkapelle and its guest ensembles, a children's area, and cozy get-togethers in the Black Forest mountain town are the focus.
The Stadtkapelle Vöhrenbach
The Stadtkapelle Vöhrenbach is the organizer and musical heart of the festival. It plays at the opening, during the parades, and throughout the catering operations, as well as at the pre-evening concerts. Friendly brass bands and Stadtkapellen from the Hochschwarzwald and Baar regions perform as guest ensembles — a tradition that strongly anchors the town festival within the region's brass music scene.
Vöhrenbach — A Town at High Altitude
Vöhrenbach is one of the oldest towns in the Hochschwarzwald (town rights since 1244). With around 3,600 inhabitants in the districts of Vöhrenbach, Hammereisenbach-Bregenbach, and Linach, it is a typical small Black Forest town — characterized by hiking tourism, forestry, and active club life. The town festival directly reflects this voluntary club structure.
Family Festival Without Commercial Noise
Visitors to the town festival don't come for big headliner concerts or mega amusement rides. Instead, Vöhrenbach offers exactly what makes smaller Black Forest towns unique: a dense network of clubs, regional food and drinks, brass music under the open sky, and summer evenings in the squares of a town that can be fully explored on foot. Getting There
Vöhrenbach is located on the B 33 between Villingen-Schwenningen and Triberg in the Hochschwarzwald. By car: approx. 25 km from Donaueschingen, approx. 18 km from Villingen. By public transport: Bus lines from Donaueschingen and Villingen, train connection on the Schwarzwaldbahn railway in Triberg or St. Georgen.
