Light art Christmas market with willow structures, wooden huts, and family program
The Uferlichter are far more than a classic Christmas market. Illuminated willow structures are spread throughout the entire Kurpark, acting as independent light installations and lending the park a new, almost dreamlike atmosphere. Wooden huts and pagoda tents are grouped around these light displays, creating a cohesive experience of wine, light, and encounters.
Wine merchants and restaurateurs from the region are present with their own stands. Spätburgunder, Riesling, mulled wine, sparkling wine from vintners, and culinary specialties line the paths. Concerts, fire shows, and a diverse family program make the event an experience that goes far beyond what classic Christmas markets offer.
The Uferlichter run from December 5, 2026, to January 11, 2027, making it one of the longest Advent formats in the Ahr Valley. It is open Fridays and Saturdays from 3 PM to 9 PM, and Sundays and between the years from 2 PM to 9 PM. This opening logic also makes the format attractive for last-minute visitors and day-trippers beyond the holidays.
Already in the 2025 season, the Uferlichter attracted more than 19,000 visitors to the Kurpark. This has established it as the second major brand of the wintery Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler, alongside the Klangwelle. Both formats complement each other: while the Klangwelle is designed as a time-limited show, the Uferlichter offer a continuous season over several weeks.
The format is redesigned in parts each year. The exact program points – concerts, fire shows, family activities – will be published in advance at uferlichter.de and on the organizer's website.
The exact concert and show program for 2026/27 will be communicated by the organizer in advance.
