The Long Night of Trier's Museums is a joint event by the city's most important museums, first held in 2009. It combines the diverse focuses of the collections into a single night of culture in Trier.
Participating Institutions 2026:
- Rheinisches Landesmuseum — one of Germany's most significant archaeological collections, focusing on Roman antiquity (Weberbach 25).
- Stadtmuseum Simeonstift — located directly by the Porta Nigra, it showcases Trier's city history from the Middle Ages to modern times.
- Museum am Dom — Christian art, goldsmith work, and diocesan history (Bischof-Stein-Platz 1).
- Karl-Marx-Haus — birthplace of Karl Marx, a biographical and political museum (Brückenstraße 10).
- Domschatzkammer — liturgical goldsmith work and relics.
The night's special program includes guided tours with curators, concerts, readings, culinary offerings at the venues, and dedicated activities for families and children. All venues are located in Trier's city center and are within walking distance of each other — visitors can stroll between the locations.
