163 Years of Tostedt Schützenfest

The Tostedt Shooting Club was founded in 1854, making it one of the oldest clubs in the Harburg district. Over 170 years of club history and 163 editions of the Schützenfest make the club an institution that has shaped Tostedt's social life since the 19th century.

Four Days of Festivities from July 17th to 20th, 2026

Friday to Monday form the framework of the festival. With four days of festivities, the Tostedt Schützenfest is one of the region's larger events, offering a varied program for the whole family.

King's Shoot and Grand Tattoo

The King's Shoot on Friday determines the new monarchs of the club. In the evening, the Grand Tattoo (Großer Zapfenstreich) follows – a ceremonial moment with a torchlight procession, traditional music, and the festive honoring of the shooting kings, bringing together the club community and the Tostedt population in a special atmosphere.

Parade on Sunday

The parade on Sunday afternoon is one of the highlights. Marksmen, marching bands, invited neighboring clubs, ladies' departments, and youth groups march through Tostedt in their historical uniforms and with their flags. Afterwards, the shooting fraternity celebrates the King's Ball in the large festival tent with a live band and dancing late into the night.

Family Day and Fireworks on Monday

Monday brings Family Day with a children's king's shoot, carousels, a bouncy castle, and games. The morning pint (Frühschoppen) gathers members for brass music. As a spectacular highlight, the grand fireworks display takes place over the Schützenplatz in the evening, captivating Tostedt and its guests from afar.
