Open-Air on the Schwanenteich
The TEICHKIND — HarSEEwinkel Festival is a young but already established open-air festival in the town of Harsewinkel in the district of Gütersloh. The venue is the idyllic Stadtpark with its Schwanenteich pond on Talstraße — a park island in the middle of the Westphalian small town, lending the festival an unusually relaxed, natural character.
Fourth Edition in 2025, Fifth Expected in 2026
The organizer is noa entertainment GmbH from Harsewinkel, in collaboration with Kulturort Wilhalm and the City of Harsewinkel. The festival takes place annually on a weekend in August. The 4th edition ran on August 2–3, 2025; the 5th edition is expected for a weekend in August 2026 — the exact dates will be announced in spring 2026.
Musical Program
The lineup spans from reggae (Young & Oldman Soundsystem, TRIBAL M) to Colombian rock (SKAMPIDA) and world music with the Maliki World Orchestra — Afro and Latin rhythms, Balkan beats, Gypsy jazz, folklore. A family program with Dancy BG & Tom Lehel and costumed Panda Friends performers rounds off the offerings.
Flea Market and Laser Show
On Saturday afternoon (4–9 PM), a large flea market transforms the park lawns — stall fee €5 per linear meter for private sellers, commercial vendors upon request. At dusk, a laser show over the Schwanenteich follows — a visually impressive spectacle, seemingly doubled by its reflection on the water.
Free and Family-Friendly
Admission is free on both days. This makes the festival an accessible family outing — and explains the growing visitor numbers from across the state of North Rhine-Westphalia. The logistics (food stalls, bar, restrooms) are manageable but functional.
Harsewinkel — Small Town with Industry and Tradition
Harsewinkel, located in western Münsterland between Gütersloh and Warendorf, is primarily known as the headquarters of the agricultural machinery manufacturer Claas. The TEICHKIND Festival fits the town's dual identity — industrial down-to-earthness on one hand, cultural openness on the other. Those on holiday in the Münsterland region will find an unusually diverse summer weekend here.
