The TCOM is Germany's largest and most important amateur music festival for choirs and orchestras. In 2026, over 1,300 musicians will travel from all over Germany to Kaiserslautern and perform around 50 concerts. This scale makes the festival an exceptional event in German amateur music life and gives Kaiserslautern the status of the musical capital of the amateur scene for three days.

Opening and Gala Concert in the Fruchthalle

The historic Fruchthalle Kaiserslautern, a neoclassical building from the 19th century and one of the most important concert halls in the West Palatinate, is the venue for the opening and gala concerts. These hall concerts feature selected ensembles from the program and are the musical highlights of the festival.

Long Night of Music with 11 Venues

The 'Long Night of Music' on Saturday evening is the heart of the festival: 11 parallel venues in Kaiserslautern's city center offer concerts of all genres, formats, and sizes. Visitors can wander from venue to venue and experience a cross-section of the German amateur music scene – from symphony orchestras to big bands, men's choirs, women's choirs, mixed choirs, a cappella ensembles, wind orchestras, and marching bands.

Free Admission and Anniversary Year

Admission to all concerts is free – a programming policy of the Bundesmusikverband and the host city of Kaiserslautern. In 2026, the festival coincides with the city's 750th anniversary, further underscoring the event's significance for Kaiserslautern. The festival is one of the central program points of the anniversary year and proof that Kaiserslautern is a serious cultural city with supra-regional appeal.
