Street Food Festival Jever
A culinary weekend with food trucks and live music in the heart of the Frisian Marienstadt
2026
About Street Food Jever
Street Food Jever — edition 2026
The festival in 2026 will follow the themes of previous years: curated truck selection, international diversity, and sweet specialties. Seating, beer benches, and lounge areas will be set up on the church square below the town church. Live music will accompany the program during the day and in the evening.
With its combination of a historic city center and modern street food culture, the festival appeals equally to gourmets from the Wangerland, Wilhelmshaven, and the Frisia region, as well as to tourists traveling to the North Sea coast in the summer.

Street Food Culture in the Marienstadt
Jever, a district town of Friesland with around 14,000 inhabitants, is known far beyond the region for its castle, brewery, and historic old town. For several years, the Street Food Festival has been using the central church square to integrate the full spectrum of modern street food culture into the traditional cityscape.
What Visitors Can Expect
Lovingly converted food trucks, trailers, and mobile kitchens line up on the church square. The range extends from handmade burgers and pulled pork specialties to Asian classics like Bao Buns, Ramen, or Dim Sum, as well as Mediterranean and Oriental cuisine. Vegan and vegetarian options are an integral part of the concept. Those looking for a sweet finish will find crêpes, cheesecakes, ice cream parlors, and chocolate specialties.
Atmosphere and Live Music
Between the trucks, a relaxed seating area with beer benches, lounge furniture, and hay bales invites visitors to linger. Live bands and DJ sets accompany the day and evening without overshadowing the culinary character of the event. The historic church tower in the background provides the unmistakable atmosphere of the Marienstadt.
Families and Visitors from the Region
The Street Food Festival is consistently designed to be family-friendly. Children will find play areas on the square, admission is free, and food is paid for directly at the trucks. Guests travel from all over the Wangerland, Wilhelmshaven, Wittmund, and Aurich – often after a stroll through the old town or a visit to the castle museum.
Organizers and Tradition
Boese Events organizes the festival in cooperation with the City of Jever. Even though the date for 2026 will only be officially communicated in spring, the concept is firmly integrated into the city's event calendar – recent editions traditionally took place on a weekend in July.
