Handicrafts and culinary delights at Bremen's Grossmarkt
Bremen's Großmarkt in the Überseestadt district is usually a hub for fresh produce – twice a year, it transforms into a stage for arts and crafts. Under the motto "Art, Curiosities, and More," TAUSENDSCHÖN brings together around 150 exhibitors in the open-air area and two halls. Here, you'll find unique, mostly sustainably produced items: handmade soaps, arrangements, woodwork, ceramics, vases, as well as individual fashion and jewelry. At some stalls, you can even watch the artisans at work. It's a market for browsing, discovering, and gifting.
The Überseestadt in western Bremen is one of Europe's largest urban development projects. Since the 2000s, the former overseas port area has evolved into a vibrant district for living, working, and culture. The Großmarkt, with its expansive halls, is one of the defining landmarks of this transformation – and an atmospheric, characterful setting for a craft market beyond the usual city center backdrop.
In addition to handicrafts, TAUSENDSCHÖN entices visitors with culinary stalls: homemade preserves, spice blends, and liqueurs invite you to sample them – to be enjoyed on-site or as souvenirs. The market thus combines shopping and enjoyment for a relaxed Sunday in the Überseestadt.
TAUSENDSCHÖN takes place twice a year: once in spring and once in autumn, always on Sundays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The offerings change with the seasons – spring-fresh decorations in March, autumnal pre-Christmas atmosphere in October.
The Großmarkt grounds are located in the Walle district of Überseestadt, easily reachable by public transport: take tram line 3 to Waller Ring or bus line 28 to Überseetor or Hochschule für Künste. Free parking is available on-site, and children and young people under 15 have free admission. TAUSENDSCHÖN is therefore an easily accessible destination for a market stroll in the heart of Bremen.
In 2026, TAUSENDSCHOEN invites you to Bremen's Grossmarkt twice: on March 22 for the Spring Market and on October 11 for the Autumn Market, each from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Around 150 exhibitors will present handicrafts and culinary items in the open-air area and two halls – from handmade soaps and ceramics to fashion and jewelry. Admission costs €3.
