Market against a Historic Warehouse Backdrop

When Speicher XI becomes the backdrop for a market in summer, a piece of Bremen's harbour history transforms into a meeting point for arts and crafts, design, and culinary delights. The Speichermarkt takes place in front of the striking brick warehouse in Überseestadt – one of the most significant industrial monuments in the state of Bremen. Speicher XI was built between 1908 and 1912 as a cotton warehouse for the overseas port; at around 403 metres long, it is the second-longest building in the city and has been a listed building since 1994. Today, it houses, among other things, the University of the Arts and the Bremen Harbour Museum.

Around 80 exhibitors showcase handmade bags, jewellery, ceramics, glass art, soaps, fashion, home accessories, and plants. A characteristic feature is the curated mix of crafts, design, and fine foods – from maritime art objects and recycled lamps to regional spreads. Food trucks and market stalls cater to your culinary needs with offerings to enjoy on-site or take away.
