Germany's largest inclusive music and art festival
The Superkunstfestival is more than a classic music festival. It is a political project: people with and without disabilities jointly create a three-day art festival — as artists, as crew members, as organizers. The festival thus sets a unique example in Germany: inclusion not as a special program, but as an equal stage.
Around 80 shows from the fields of music, visual arts, theater, film, and circus are spread across six stages. The mix is impressive — from political hip-hop shows to contemporary dance productions to circus performances with artists from all over the world. The festival takes place on the campus of Diakonie Nord Nord Ost in Lübeck, a large socio-economic institution with long experience in working with people with disabilities.
The second wave of artist confirmations for 2026 includes Afrob & Ferris MC, Deine Cousine, OK.Danke.Tschüss, Mentsh United feat. Shantel, Senta, Smith & Smart, Denyo & Mad Beginner Soundsystem, and The Magic Mumble Jumble. A crossover of hip-hop, indie, klezmer, and singer-songwriter — typical of the festival's open programming policy.
The festival uses a tiered ticketing system with four booking phases. Full refund up to 8 days before the festival. Family bundles with a 20% discount for children and young people. In cooperation with Kulturtafel Lübeck, free tickets are distributed to people with financial difficulties — because "participation remains our promise," as the organizers put it.
The festival management clearly states its position: "Culture can create spaces where humanity prevails over movements that violate human rights." In times of political polarization, the Superkunstfestival sees itself as an explicitly solidarity-based format — against racism, ableism, antisemitism, homophobia.
