Concert series with around 20 open-air concerts in the bandstand of the Kurpark Bruchhausen-Vilsen — 50th season
In 2026, the start of the Sunday Concerts in the Kurpark Bruchhausen-Vilsen marks its 50th anniversary. What began as a small initiative in 1976 has developed into the most traditional concert series in the municipality. Every Sunday during the season, guests and locals gather in the bandstand to enjoy live music under the open sky — and have done so for five decades without interruption.
The bandstand in the Kurpark is an architectural highlight. The shell, open at the top and dating from the 1970s, provides space for a small band or choir and ensures natural acoustics. The seating on the lawn in front of the bandstand is freely accessible; many visitors bring their own blankets and chairs.
The musical profile of the series is deliberately broad: brass bands, shanty choirs, church choirs, regional bands, and youth brass bands form the core. This appeals to all generations and offers a diversity that has become rare in this form. Every Sunday, a different ensemble performs — an ideal way to get to know the regional music scene.
Admission to the Sunday Concerts is free. Coffee and cake are available on-site, often from the club kitchen. The Sunday Concerts are therefore not just a musical event, but also a social meeting point and a popular Sunday outing for families and seniors.
50 years of Sunday Concerts represent consistency, tradition, and community. The series is part of Bruchhausen-Vilsen's identity and is one of the most beautiful open-air concert offerings in the Diepholz district.
The exact program for the 2026 season, including all ensembles, will be published by the municipality of Bruchhausen-Vilsen on bruchhausen-vilsen.de.
