Three-day open-air festival in the Winkelhof spa park — Techno Friday, Rock Saturday with Coldplay tribute, Family Day Sunday in the Kneipp spa town of Bad Tabarz
Summit Sounds is a young open-air festival at the foot of the Inselsberg in the Thuringian Forest — initiated in 2025 by entrepreneurs from Bad Tabarz who want to give their spa town its own festival tradition. In 2026, the second edition will run from June 26th to 28th in the Winkelhof spa park. The concept: three very different festival days — Techno, Rock, and Family — which together represent the spectrum of a small but ambitious open-air event.
The kick-off on Friday, June 26th, is a pure techno night for an audience aged 18 and over. On the main stage of the spa park, Gunnar & Neighbourhood, Küche80, Tim Storch, HouseKaspeR, and TAKTSTÖRER will play — uncompromising, driving techno with maximum energy. Gates open at 4 PM, music from 5 PM to 2 AM.
On Saturday, June 27th, the spa park becomes a rock stage. The headliner is the Coldplay tribute band Viva la Vida, presenting the biggest Coldplay hits with an original lineup show and live instruments. Afterwards, radio personality Adi Rückewold hosts a 90s and 2000s party with the most iconic hits from two decades of partying. Gates open at 5 PM, music from 6 PM to 1 AM.
Sunday, June 28th, is a family day with free admission: The Werrataler Musikanten will bring traditional brass band music to the spa park; a bouncy castle, ice cream stand, and club stalls make the program family-friendly. Event hours 11 AM to 2 PM.
Bad Tabarz in the Gotha district (state of Thuringia) is located at the foot of the Großer Inselsberg (916 m) and has been a recognized Kneipp spa town since 1999. The Winkelhof spa park, with its old trees and water features, forms an extraordinary festival backdrop — a green natural area and an open-air performance space at the same time. Arrival via A4 highway, exit Waltershausen, then B88; train to Friedrichroda with bus connection.
The second edition makes it clear that Summit Sounds aims to be more than a one-off experiment: three days, three distinct musical identities, a single venue. The Winkelhof spa park is consistently used as a festival stage — from techno to brass band music. Weekend tickets starting at €34 make the festival regionally accessible.
Weekend tickets from €34. Single day tickets for Friday/Saturday available separately. Sunday Family Day — Free Admission. Advance sales: Eventim, Ticketshop Thüringen, and directly at Autohaus Meyer Bad Tabarz.
