20th anniversary edition of the Après Ski festival Summer-Open Air Unnau with Ikke Hüftgold and top acts on the Unnau sports field
The Summer-Open Air Unnau celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2026 — an XXL celebration for one of the most unusual festivals in the Westerwald. The concept: Après Ski atmosphere in the middle of high summer, on the sports field of the Westerwald community of Unnau, organized on a voluntary basis by SG Alpenrod/Lochum/Nistertal/Unnau.
In 2026, the festival will take place on Friday, June 19th, and Saturday, June 20th. The headliner is Ikke Hüftgold, the Ballermann and Mallorca star. Also performing: Non Plus X, Groundville Bastards, Kapelle Karacho, and Pentonic. A colorful mix of Schlager, party hits, rock, and covers.
The Summer-Open Air Unnau was first held in 2006 and has developed into a Westerwald institution over the years. The concept of "Après Ski atmosphere in summer" may sound paradoxical at first — but it works perfectly: The mix of Schlager, party hits, and dance floor fillers typical of Après Ski fits perfectly with a relaxed summer weekend in the Westerwald.
The festival takes place on the sports field of the Westerwald community of Unnau. The open space offers room for the stage, food trucks, bar, and audience. The rural location in the Westerwald ensures a relaxed, family-like atmosphere — far from the anonymity of large city festivals.
The organizer is the SG Alpenrod/Lochum/Nistertal/Unnau, the sports association of the four Westerwald communities in football. The entire festival is organized on a voluntary basis — setup, catering, logistics, security. The proceeds benefit youth and club work. This voluntary rooting gives the festival its special, heartfelt charm.
The headliner is Ikke Hüftgold, the Mallorca and Ballermann star with hits like "Disco Pogo," "Helikopter 117," and "Saufi Saufi." His performance promises a hot package of party atmosphere. The line-up is complemented by Non Plus X (cover rock), Groundville Bastards (country-punk rock), Kapelle Karacho (party music), and Pentonic. A colorful mix that covers every taste.
The event calendar of the community of Unnau and press releases from the Rhein-Zeitung confirm the dates June 19th and 20th, 2026. This 20th anniversary is expected to attract particularly large crowds.
