About Weindorf

From August 20 to September 5, 2026, the Stuttgart Wine Village celebrates its 50th anniversary under the motto “GeWeinsam” (Together). Around 120 festively decorated vine-covered huts, about 30 hosts, and a selection of over 500 wines from Baden-Württemberg await you on Marktplatz, Schillerplatz, and Kirchstraße in Stuttgart-Mitte — from Trollinger and Lemberger to Riesling, Spätburgunder, and Weissburgunder. Accompanied by Swabian specialities like Maultaschen, Kässpätzle, and Schupfnudeln. For 17 days, the state capital transforms into a vibrant wine meeting point in the heart of Stuttgart's Old Town — one of Germany's largest wine festivals.

Stuttgart Wine Village — 50 Years of Württemberg Lifestyle

Since 1976, the Stuttgart Wine Village has invited wine lovers, Stuttgart locals, and tourists from all over the world to the city centre of the Baden-Württemberg state capital every late summer. In 2026, the Wine Village celebrates its 50th anniversary — an occasion for a special programme with the motto “GeWeinsam”, highlighting the festival's community-building character. Alongside Cannstatter Wasen and the Stuttgart Spring Festival, the Wine Village is one of the city's three major festivals and one of the most important wine festivals in Germany.

Three Squares, 120 Huts, 500 Wines

The festival area extends over three central squares in Stuttgart-Mitte: Marktplatz in front of the town hall, Schillerplatz with the Collegiate Church and the Schiller statue, and Kirchstraße, which connects both squares. Around 120 vine-covered huts, festively decorated with flowers, vines, and Swabian motifs, form a labyrinthine wine village in the middle of the big city — an ensemble that is unique in Germany. About 30 hosts from traditional Stuttgart restaurants run the huts, each with its own wine and food menu.

Württemberg Wines — from Trollinger to Lemberger

The Wine Village is the largest showcase for wines from Württemberg and Baden — over 500 wines are available, along with sparkling wines, and increasingly, non-alcoholic alternatives. Stuttgart's city area itself covers over 400 hectares of vineyards, making the state capital the largest wine-growing city in Germany. On the menus, you'll find classics like Trollinger and Lemberger (red), Riesling and Müller-Thurgau (white), Spätburgunder, Weissburgunder, and Grauburgunder.

Swabian Cuisine from the Huts

In Swabia, hearty cuisine belongs with wine: Maultaschen in all variations, Kässpätzle, Schupfnudeln with sauerkraut, lentils with Spätzle and Saitenwürstle, Zwiebelrostbraten, Gaisburger Marsch. Many huts focus on regional products and long-standing traditional recipes. Sweet specialities — from Hefezopf to Apfelküchle — complement the offerings.

50 Years — Motto “GeWeinsam” 2026

For its 50th anniversary, Pro Stuttgart has chosen the pun-based motto “GeWeinsam” — a tribute to the community-building character of the festival. Family Sundays with face painting and stories for children, live music in the huts, Swabian dialect evenings, and special guided tours will accompany the anniversary year. Federal State: Baden-Württemberg, District: Stuttgart (urban district).

The Anniversary Wine Village 2026 — “GeWeinsam”

From August 20 to September 5, 2026, Pro Stuttgart and the approximately 30 Wine Village hosts will transform Stuttgart's city centre into Germany's largest wine village. On Marktplatz, Schillerplatz, and Kirchstraße, around 120 festively decorated vine-covered huts will be set up — each a small open-air wine restaurant. In this 50th anniversary year, the motto “GeWeinsam” emphasizes the festival's unifying character.

The offering includes over 500 Württemberg wines: Trollinger, Lemberger, Schwarzriesling, and Spätburgunder for reds, Riesling, Kerner, Müller-Thurgau, and Weissburgunder for whites. Plus classic Swabian cuisine from the huts — Maultaschen, Kässpätzle, Schupfnudeln, Saitenwürstle.
