Three days of food trucks, street circus, and kids' program in Prenzlauer Berg
The Street Food Festival Danziger Straße takes place in 2026 from August 21st to 23rd between Danziger and Kniprodestraße – in the Prenzlauer Berg district of Pankow, directly opposite Volkspark Friedrichshain. For several hundred meters, the street space transforms into a boulevard of food trucks and market stalls. The mix is deliberately broad: fairground classics, international street food cuisines from Asia, the Middle East, and Latin America, fresh pasta stalls from Southern Italy, and a small selection of Austrian sausage and cheese specialties.
The festival is accompanied by a continuous entertainment program: The "Street Circus" performs several times a day – a show mix of live music, juggling, and acrobatics – supplemented by food pairing stalls from regional Berlin and Brandenburg breweries, vintners from Saxony and Franconia, and liqueur and cocktail stations. For children, there are hands-on circus workshops, classic game stalls, and a bungee trampoline.
The Street Food Festival Danziger Straße is part of the Hauptstadtkultur Berlin event series, which organizes recurring food truck festivals and street festivals in several Berlin districts – from Spandau to Köpenick. The Danziger Straße event is the most concentrated date in inner Berlin: its location between Volkspark Friedrichshain, Mauerpark, and Kollwitzplatz guarantees a diverse mix of local residents, tourists, and Berliners from other districts.
The admission fee of €2 is credited as a drink voucher with your first purchase – a proven practice to secure program funding without raising the barrier for spontaneous visits. Children under 12 are usually free. The event is family-friendly and accessible; tram lines M5, M6, and M10 stop directly at the festival grounds.
With over 30 trucks over three days, the festival is one of Berlin's busiest food truck weekends – a summer format that regularly attracts large crowds due to its location and program. For street food enthusiasts from the state of Berlin and the Brandenburg region, it is a fixed date in the August season.
As in previous years, Hauptstadtkultur Berlin is filling Kniprodestraße with a high density of food trucks and street food stalls over three August days. Additionally, Street Circus acts perform several times daily – a show mix of live music, juggling, and acrobatics. A dedicated hands-on zone for children with circus workshops, game stalls, and a bungee trampoline is set up. The culinary offerings are complemented by regional breweries from Berlin and Brandenburg, vintners, and cocktail and liqueur stations.
