39 editions with over 400 Mosel wines
The Straßenweinfest Neef is an insider tip among Mosel wine festivals. While other events focus on marquees, stage shows, and mass audiences, Neef has deliberately given its street wine festival a wine-focused character: the focus is on the wines themselves, presented by around 20 wineries with a selection of over 400 different wines.
This exceptional variety of wines makes the festival a must-attend for anyone who wants to seriously taste Mosel wine. The spectrum ranges from light summer Rieslings to classic Spätlesen and Auslesen, rare sparkling wine specialties, mature Spätburgunders, and noble sweet Beerenauslesen. The winemakers personally attend their stands and are always available for discussions and background information.
The festival atmosphere matches the high viticultural standards: the historic alleys with half-timbered houses and slate roofs are festively illuminated, tables and benches invite visitors to linger, and small stages provide atmospheric musical accompaniment without disrupting the event's character. Culinary delights include top Mosel cuisine: Riesling wild ragout, salmon trout from Hunsrück springs, regional cheeses, and Mosel specialties.
A special program item is the guided wine-culture hike on Saturday at 11:00 AM. Starting from the fountain square on Moseluferstraße, a hike with a wine queen and a trained nature guide leads to the Petersberg. Small wine tastings are offered along the way, and the summit offers a panoramic view of the entire Mosel loop and the opposite Calmont. The hike concludes with a final wine tasting.
The 2026 street wine festival in Neef runs from Friday, September 25, to Sunday, September 27. The winery stands are spread across the main street, side alleys, and several courtyards. The organizer is the Straßenweinfestgemeinschaft Neef, chaired by Uwe Kreuter.
The exact program for 2026 will be published by the Straßenweinfestgemeinschaft Neef in late summer. The structure follows the proven cornerstones of previous years:
