Swimming and Celebrating on a Grand Scale

The concept of the Strandbadfest is unique in the Palatinate: on the vast grounds of the Ostpark lido, the festival combines the classic joys of a lido — swimming, sunbathing, family games by the water — with a two-day festival program featuring catering, live music on two stages, and dancing late into the night. 170,000 square meters provide space for thousands of visitors without feeling crowded.

Date Set for Last Holiday Weekend

A conscious decision by the organizer: Instead of taking place before Pentecost as in previous years, the Strandbadfest 2026 will be held on the last weekend of the Rhineland-Palatinate summer holidays. This shift avoids conflicts with the Strohhutfest in June and the FIFA World Cup in the summer. The weekend of August 7th to 8th, 2026, is thus the date for the summer finale in Frankenthal.

Two Stages, Packed Program

Two stages distribute the live program throughout the day and evening. Bands, DJs, dance groups, and show acts will find their space here. The program includes various music genres — rock, pop, electronic music, Schlager — appealing to a broad audience. The catering is designed for the Volksfest format: bratwurst, fries, steaks, pizza, ice cream, drinks of all kinds.

Swimming During the Day

The lido is open during the day — visitors can swim in the pools, sunbathe on the lawns, play with children at the water play areas, or simply enjoy the atmosphere. In the afternoon, the swimming operation transitions into the festival operation — a seamless blend of day and evening programs.

Family-Friendly

The Strandbadfest is explicitly family-friendly. Children will find water, lawns, games, and an animation program. For adults, there's the festival offering with music and catering. This versatility makes the event a summer highlight for the entire region.
