Art and culture festival in Einbeck's city centre with the motto Diversity without Borders
The StadtpARTie Einbeck fundamentally differs from classic cultural festivals. Instead of concentrating on a few established venues, the festival uses the entire city centre. Vacant retail spaces, historic buildings, churches, courtyards, and public squares become temporary galleries, concert halls, reading venues, and theatre stages. This strategy visibly revitalizes the city and gives the festival its unique character.
From May 13th to 17th, 2026, the fourth edition of StadtpARTie will take place. The motto Diversity without Borders reflects the festival's ambition to bring artistic genres, generations, and cultures into dialogue. 21 art exhibitions, around 30 music concerts, theatre performances, film screenings, readings, and workshops form a dense programme that is unique in its form in the region.
Highlights include performances by renowned artists. Singer Pe Werner and the a cappella group LaLeLu will perform. In addition, regional and national bands will present a broad spectrum from blues and jazz to classical chamber music – a programme that will surprise even an experienced audience.
With over 20 exhibitions, Einbeck's city centre becomes the largest temporary gallery in the region. Most exhibitions are free to access, making a spontaneous visit or a stroll through the city a cultural experience. Artists from Germany and other European countries present paintings, sculptures, photography, and installations in often unusual spatial contexts.
Behind StadtpARTie is an association of committed citizens who organize the festival on a voluntary basis. The event is supported by the City of Einbeck, regional companies, foundations, and sponsors. This broad sponsorship secures the high artistic quality and the open, inviting atmosphere of the festival.
StadtpARTie 2026 is the most extensive edition of the festival to date. Over five days, artists from various disciplines will take over the historic city centre of Einbeck. The motto Diversity without Borders is concretely implemented in the programme: genres and generations meet, established artists stand alongside emerging voices, classical chamber music meets contemporary a cappella art.
The unusual venues – vacant shops, historic buildings, churches, and courtyards – make every visit a discovery. A festival visit also means getting to know Einbeck's old town from new perspectives.
