Open-air concert by the Stadtkapelle Zweibrücken in the legendary Rose Garden
The Zweibrücken Rose Garden is one of the most important rose collections in Europe. Around 4 hectares are home to over 50,000 roses of more than 2,000 varieties – from historical and modern cultivars to new breeds. The garden reaches its annual peak in May/June when the main bloom transforms the area into a sea of flowers. It serves as a venue for concerts, festivals, and markets, and is central to Zweibrücken's self-image as the "City of Roses.".
The Stadtkapelle Zweibrücken is one of the city's most traditional brass music ensembles. With a diverse repertoire – ranging from classical marches and waltzes to film music and symphonic brass works – it regularly performs public concerts in Zweibrücken and the surrounding region. The Mother's Day Concert in the Rose Garden is one of its signature events.
The Mother's Day Concert in the Rose Garden has been an established date for many years. The combination of Mother's Day, open-air music in the blooming Rose Garden, and a relaxed family atmosphere makes the afternoon a perfect outing – whether with your own mother, with family, or as a concertgoer who appreciates the special ambiance.
The program follows a proven mix: opening marches, classical waltzes, film music highlights, a selection of polkas, and a festive finale. The audience sits on benches or brings their own blankets near the concert stage; many visitors combine their concert visit with a stroll through the rose parterres.
The 2026 Mother's Day Concert continues a long-standing tradition. The Zweibrücken Rose Garden is already in bloom in May, and the mild spring climate is conducive to attending an open-air event.
Visitors can combine attending the concert with a walk through the rose parterres – an ideal way to celebrate Mother's Day.
The exact program for 2026 will be published by the Stadtkapelle. The structure follows the proven cornerstones of previous years:
