Bi-annual Major Event in the Hanseatic City

The Stadtfest Uelzen is held every two years — a concentration of resources on one major event with significant appeal, rather than smaller annual festivals. The bi-annual recurrence creates anticipation, allows for ambitious program planning, and positions the festival as the premier major event in Uelzen.

Three Stages for a City Center

The spatial distribution across three stages is a key feature: one stage at the Old Town Hall with a historic backdrop, a second at Herzogenplatz as the central city square, and a third as DJPlace in Gudesstraße featuring electronic music. This setup allows for different music genres to be played simultaneously while enlivening the entire city center.

Over 15 Music Groups — Genre Diversity

With over 15 music groups over three days and three stages, the musical lineup is impressive. The genre spectrum typically ranges from rock and pop to Schlager (popular German music) and classics, to electronic music at the DJPlace. Local and national acts will perform. The band list will be published by the organizer in the summer of 2026.

Large Rides in the Urban Space

An unusual strength of the Uelzen Stadtfest is its array of large rides. The X-Flight, a high-speed ride, a Ferris wheel as a visual landmark, the Break Dancer, a classic, and the Musikexpress are all present. Children's carousels and smaller rides complete the offerings for the youngest visitors. The showmen travel from all over Northern Germany.

Weekly Market on Saturday in Lüneburger Straße

On Saturday, the regular weekly market takes place in Lüneburger Straße. This creates a dense urban experience where the Stadtfest and the weekly market overlap. Market visitors become Stadtfest visitors and vice versa.

9D Cinema in Schuhstraße

An unusual attraction is the 9D cinema in Schuhstraße. With motion seats, wind, water droplets, scents, and 3D glasses, the format offers immersive cinema experiences — a modern addition to the classic Stadtfest offerings.

Opening Hours Until Midnight

On Friday and Saturday, the Stadtfest is open until 11:55 PM — just before midnight. On Sunday, it closes at 8 PM. These late opening hours make the weekend a true festival weekend with long festive evenings.
