Schöppenstedt – Till Eulenspiegel's Town

Schöppenstedt is a small Eastphalian town in the Wolfenbüttel district and is inextricably linked with the figure of Till Eulenspiegel – that medieval jester whose stories are preserved in Schöppenstedt at the Till Eulenspiegel Museum. This cultural identity shapes the town's life and is also reflected in the town festival, which brings the Schöppenstedt community together on the market square once a year.

The town festival follows the proven logic of small-town festivals: clubs present their work, restaurateurs offer regional and international dishes, music groups play on a stage in the market square, and families can find hands-on activities and carousels. From the toddler area and club stalls to the dance floor in the evening, there is something for every generation.

Market Square as Festival Scenery

Schöppenstedt's market square is the natural meeting place of the town and the heart of the community in everyday life. On festival days, it is closed to traffic and transformed into a continuous festival mile. The historic buildings framing the square create atmosphere and pleasant acoustics.

Second September Weekend as Tradition

The town festival takes place every year on the second weekend of September – a date that has proven to be well-established in recent years. The exact date for 2026 will be published by the organizer, the Town of Schöppenstedt and an initiative of dedicated clubs, in the summer. It is highly likely to be September 12–13, 2026.
