Two days of Stadtfest in Meschede's city center with AutoSalon, 10th Spring Oldtimer Tour, Soapbox Derby, and Turkish Cultural Festival
The Meschede Stadtfest is not a classic, single-track city festival, but a cluster of events taking place concurrently over a weekend in the city center. This is its appeal: those who like cars and oldtimers have their focus; those interested in intercultural culinary experiences will find the Turkish cultural festival; families with children will enjoy the soapbox derby; shopping fans take advantage of the Sunday with open shops.
The Stadtfest Meschede 2026 runs on Saturday, May 9th, and Sunday, May 10th, 2026, in Meschede's city center. Focal points are Stiftsplatz, Ruhrstraße, and Kaiser-Otto-Platz.
Current vehicle models from regional car dealers along the axis from Ruhrbrücke to Kaiser-Otto-Platz. From sports cars to electric vehicles. Accompanied by a cycling mile with current models from regional specialist dealers.
Meschede, with around 30,000 inhabitants, is the district capital of the Hochsauerlandkreis (HSK) and is located on the Ruhr River, about 60 km east of Dortmund. The landmark is the Königsmünster Abbey, which as a Benedictine monastery with a youth hostel and grammar school is an important site in the Sauerland. During the Stadtfest, the city center transforms from a quiet administrative and school location into a lively festival mile.
The 2026 edition of the Stadtfest Meschede is the 10th running of the Spring Oldtimer Tour and combines several event formats in Meschede's city center. The organizer is the city of Meschede in cooperation with local clubs and retailers.
Free admission. Food and drinks at club stands are subject to charge.
By train to Meschede (RB91 Hagen–Bestwig–Brilon), station is immediately in the city center. By car via the A46 (Meschede exit) or the B7 from the eastern Sauerland.
Paid parking garages in the city center and free parking areas on the outskirts. Especially busy on Sundays with open shops – arrive early.
Admission to the Stadtfest and all program points is free. Food, drinks, and rides during the oldtimer parade (if offered) are subject to charge.
Stalls along Ruhrstraße and at Stiftsplatz, stages at several points, toilets distributed. Benches along the main routes. Family-friendly.
Those who like oldtimers should come to Stiftsplatz at 2:30 PM on Sunday – the Spring Tour is the most spectacular program highlight. Those who enjoy culinary experiences should seek out the Turkish cultural festival "Friedlich Miteinander" on Ruhrstraße. If the weather is good, you can combine the Stadtfest with a subsequent walk along the Hennesee – about 10 minutes away.
