26th Edition of the Stadtfest

The Ludwigshafen Stadtfest looks back on 26 editions in 2026 and is, alongside the Pfalzfest and the Rheinuferfest, one of the city's three major summer festivals. Unlike the geographically distributed district festivals (Kerwen), it brings the entire festival activity into the city center, turning the central squares, streets, and promenades into a festive backdrop for three days.

Three Festival Stages

The program is spread across three large festival stages with different focuses. One main stage presents national and international pop and rock acts, a second is reserved for regional acts and special programs, and a third focuses on younger and more experimental formats. This allows the Stadtfest to cover a broad musical spectrum.

Pre-Opening on Thursday

The pre-opening will take place on Thursday, June 23rd. This semi-official opening builds anticipation and leads into the actual festival weekend.

Anniversary Festival 2026

The 26th edition in 2026 is characterized by several anniversaries: The Ludwigshafen Professional Fire Brigade turns 100 years old, and several city partnership anniversaries are being celebrated simultaneously. These anniversaries shape the program design and stage content.

Classical and Concert Highlights

Artistic highlights in 2026 include a performance by the Deutsche Staatsphilharmonie Rheinland-Pfalz, which combines a big-city festival atmosphere and symphonic soundscapes with a classical program, as well as a concert by the Capitol Mannheim Ensemble. In addition, pop and rock acts with national and international appeal will perform.

Open Shopping Sunday

On Sunday, June 25th, the traditional open shopping day will take place in Ludwigshafen's city center. Shops will open their doors, complementing the festival atmosphere with a shopping experience.
