About Stade Wine Festival

From July 16 to 19, 2026, Stade Tourism invites you to the traditional Stade Wine Festival on the Pferdemarkt in the historic old town of the Hanseatic city of Stade. For four days, the central square will be transformed into an extensive wine mile. Winemakers and wine merchants from German growing regions – Rheingau, Mosel, Pfalz, Baden, Württemberg, Franken, Rheinhessen, Nahe – will present their vintages and specialties. Accompanying this, cocktails, spirits, and culinary specialties will be offered under the open sky. Live music, a cultivated atmosphere, and the historic backdrop of the Pferdemarkt make the wine festival a sophisticated summer city festival. It is aimed at wine lovers, gourmets, and residents as well as visitors from the Hamburg surrounding area.

Four Days of Wine in the Old Town

The Stade Wine Festival extends over four days, from Thursday afternoon to Sunday evening, and offers a concentrated wine mile on the Pferdemarkt. Winemakers from various German growing regions will be present, presenting their vintages, explaining vineyard sites and grape varieties, and providing information on cellar techniques and cultivation. This direct presence of the winemakers makes the festival particularly attractive for wine lovers.

Wines from German Growing Regions

Winemakers from classic German growing regions are represented: Rieslings from Rheingau, Mosel, and Nahe, Pinot Noir from Ahrtal and Baden, Silvaner from Franken, Müller-Thurgau from Rheinhessen, Trollinger and Lemberger from Württemberg, as well as current premieres and rarities. The diversity allows for comparing several growing regions in the glass in one evening.

Cocktails and Summer Culinary Delights

In addition to wine, the festival also offers cocktail and spirits bars as well as culinary accompaniments with summer dishes. Flammkuchen, Mediterranean specialties, cheese and charcuterie boards, salads, and desserts fit the relaxed atmosphere under the open sky.

Pferdemarkt as a Cultivated Stage

The Pferdemarkt is centrally located in the historic old town of Stade. With its restored facades, the Pferdemarkt fountain, and its location between the city center and the Hanseatic harbor, it forms an atmospheric backdrop for the wine festival. Tables and benches are set up so that guests can taste and enjoy in a relaxed atmosphere.
