The St. Anna Kirmes Gerolstein has been a cornerstone of the ecclesiastical and social festival calendar of the Eifel town for centuries. It honors St. Anna, the mother of Mary and patron saint of the town. Beyond its religious tradition, the St. Anna Kirmes has developed into the largest folk festival of the summer in Gerolstein.
Two Fairgrounds – Double the Kirmes Area
Unusual for a town of this size: The St. Anna Kirmes uses two fairgrounds:
- Fairground at the Kyll Riverbank: Classic location with a river atmosphere, main concentration of large rides.
- Former Post Office Parking Lot: Expanded fairground with additional rides and stalls.
This division creates space for a particularly extensive offering.
