Groß Twülpstedt is a municipality within the Samtgemeinde Velpke in the northeastern district of Helmstedt. In addition to the main town of Groß Twülpstedt, the municipality includes the districts of Klein Twülpstedt, Volkmarsdorf, and Papenrode — all with their own clubs and, in some cases, their own Schützenfeste (shooting festivals).

With four festive days (Thursday to Sunday), the Sportwochenende is unusually long. The extended duration allows for a varied program — youth tournaments on Thursday or Friday, senior and adult tournaments on Saturday and Sunday, and club evenings in the sports clubhouse in the evenings.

The main program consists of football tournaments for various age groups — from youth teams (U10, U12, U14, U16, U18) to seniors.
