Hilgertshausen-Tandern lies between Dachau and Schrobenhausen, at the transition from Munich's commuter belt to the hop-rich Donaumoos. The twin municipality has just under 4,000 inhabitants, whose main club is TSV Hilgertshausen — a classic Bavarian sports club with football, Bavarian curling (Stockschießen), and gymnastics sections.

It traditionally takes place at the end of July or the beginning of August and spans several days. Getting there
By car: A8 or B300 to Dachau-Süd, then B300 towards Schrobenhausen, turn off for Hilgertshausen. By public transport: S-Bahn S2 to Dachau or Petershausen, then bus lines towards Hilgertshausen-Tandern.
On-site
The TSV Hilgertshausen sports grounds are located on the western outskirts of the village. Parking is available on the meadows around the sports club house. Payment is by cash at the festival tent and bar.

Combine your visit to the Sportwoche with a tour through the Dachau region — the monastery town of Indersdorf and the market town of Aichach are just a short drive away.
