1st Speyer Health Day on May 30, 2026 in the Domgarten — Motto 'Speyer Moves You!' with stage program, dance, BigBand, and free admission
With the Speyer Health Day, the city of Speyer is launching a new format in 2026. The 1st edition on May 30, 2026, is intended to be the start of a permanent series — an annual meeting point for everyone interested in health, exercise, prevention, and well-being. The initiator and main organizer is the city of Speyer in cooperation with PVM (Pfälzischer Verein für Multiple Sklerose) and the organizer Abenteuer erleben.
The Domgarten — the spacious green area behind the Imperial Cathedral — is the ideal venue for an outdoor festival with a health focus. The combination of nature, urban environment, and the World Heritage backdrop gives the day a special atmosphere. The program runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. — a classic day event format that appeals equally to families, seniors, and the athletically active.
The motto 'Speyer Moves You!' is to be understood programmatically — movement is the focus. Dance, sports, physical activity, and their importance for health and well-being shape the event. The participating clubs and actors bring their movement offerings to the stage and the booths.
The stage program includes various actors from Speyer's sports and cultural scene. Tanztreff Thiele presents ballroom dancing and show choreographies. The BigBand Dometown of the Speyer Music School plays big band classics. TSV Speyer showcases children's gymnastics and dance from its club program. The Monkey Dance Company brings urban dance styles to the stage.
In addition to the stage program, clubs, health insurance companies, therapists, sports clubs, and self-help groups offer consultations, lectures, and interactive stations. Topics range from nutrition and prevention, exercise and sports, to specific issues such as Multiple Sclerosis (focus of co-organizer PVM), diabetes, cardiovascular health, and mental well-being. Admission is free.
The 1st edition in 2026 marks the start of a new festival format in Speyer. The stage, consultation booths, and interactive stations are spread across the Domgarten.
The exact program for 2026 will be published by the organizer in the spring. The structure follows the established key points of previous years.
