The Sparkassen-Küstenmarathon Otterndorf is one of the most atmospheric running events on the Lower Saxony North Sea coast. The organizer is TSV Otterndorf, which has been carefully curating the route and organizing the event with dedication for years.

Four Distances for Everyone

The range of distances is broad:

• 5 km — Beginners and families
• 10 km — popular medium distance
• 25 km — challenging long distance, ideal as marathon preparation
• Marathon — 42.195 km

Route along the Elbe Dyke

The outstanding feature: the route along the Elbe dyke. Runners experience the vastness of the Elbe, the passing ships, and — in clear weather — the view of the Wadden Sea (UNESCO World Natural Heritage). A flat course, ideal for personal bests — provided the North German wind cooperates.

Continue the Success of the Anniversary

After the successful anniversary in 2025, the Küstenmarathon aims to carry that momentum into 2026 — with a larger number of participants, optimized logistics, and new highlights for runners and spectators.

Otterndorf — March Town as a Running Location

The historic march town of Otterndorf is ideally suited as a running location: a compact town center as the start and finish area, and a spacious dyke landscape as the route. TSV Otterndorf consistently utilizes these conditions — the Sparkassen-Küstenmarathon is now firmly established in the Northern German running calendar.
