SommerZeit Rockenhausen is an open-air event series by the town of Rockenhausen in the northern Donnersbergkreis. Rockenhausen Castle Park, as the central venue, offers a unique setting for open-air cultural evenings.
Castle Park as a Summer Stage
The castle park in the town center of Rockenhausen, with the former castle of the Wild- and Rheingrafen, is an ideal venue with its old trees, paths, and meadows. For SommerZeit, an open-air stage and corresponding seating are set up. The natural backdrop, the castle walls, and the balmy summer evening shape the special atmosphere of the events.
Diverse Genre Program
The SommerZeit program is deliberately broad: comedy and cabaret evenings with top-tier artists from the German-speaking scene, open-air cinema with current films or classics, live concerts from pop and rock to jazz and folk, and occasional tribute shows or classical open-airs. Town of Rockenhausen and Nordpfälzer Land
Rockenhausen is the seat of the Nordpfälzer Land association-municipality in the Donnersbergkreis and, with around 6,000 inhabitants, is one of the urban centers of Nordpfalz. The town has a remarkable cultural heritage with the Museum Pachen for Mechanical Musical Instruments and the Museum Mile. SommerZeit complements this profile in the summer with an open-air series for a supra-regional audience.

- July: Opening evening with a comedy or concert highlight, further concerts of various genres in the castle park.
- August: Open-air cinema evenings with current films or classics under the stars, more live concerts and cabaret evenings.
- September: Closing evenings of the series, often with a musical highlight or a prominent comedy show.

Getting There
Rockenhausen is located on the B48 and B270, about 25 km north of Kaiserslautern. Easily accessible via the A63 (Winnweiler exit). Rockenhausen train station on the Kaiserslautern – Bingen line with regional connections. Parking available in the town center.
Tickets
Tickets are required for most events in advance. Sales via AD-Ticket and other advance booking offices.
Venue
Schlosspark Rockenhausen, in the town center. In case of rain, individual events will be moved to alternative indoor locations; current information will be communicated by the organizer.
