Mundenheim District

Mundenheim is one of Ludwigshafen's southern districts and an established residential area with its own market square, church, and community associations. The annual Sommertag and the Mundenheimer Kerwe – the "Munnemer Gockelskerwe" – in August are the two largest district festivals.

Second Stop of the Funfair Season

In the Ludwigshafen festival calendar, the Mundenheim Sommertag follows directly after the Oggersheim Sommertag, continuing the season. Together, both Sommertage form the spring double-header of the district festivals.

Rides and Food Stalls

On the Kerweplatz Mundenheim, showmen set up their amusement park for four days. The Ferris wheel offers a view over the district to the Rhine, the dodgems attract a young audience, and children's carousels are available for the youngest visitors. Game and shooting stalls, sweet shops, bratwurst grills, and classic fairground specialities complete the offerings.

Family Day on Monday

Like many Ludwigshafen Volksfeste, the Mundenheim Sommertag also features a Family Day with reduced prices. In 2026, it takes place on Monday, March 23, and is primarily aimed at families with children and school classes.

Food Stalls

Palatinate Volksfest cuisine – bratwurst, fries, Fleischwurst (sausage), crêpes, candied almonds, sweets – forms the backbone of the catering. In the surrounding streets and at Mundenheim market square, bars and restaurants complement the offerings.
