Spring Funfair in the Heide Town

The Soltauer Frühjahrsmarkt builds on the old tradition of annual markets that mark the beginning of spring in many North German cities. With its date at the end of April, the market takes advantage of the first warm days of the year and invites you to enjoy open-air fun in the city center. Carousels, rides, and food stalls create a funfair atmosphere.

Three Days of Festivities with a Classic Program

The festival runs from Friday to Sunday. Friday marks the start of the festivities with an afternoon opening, Saturday is the main festival day with an extensive program, and Sunday is family day with a flea market and Sunday shopping. This structure is typical for North German annual markets and attracts a broad audience.

Flea Market on Sunday

A special attraction is the flea market on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the Blumenstraße parking lot. Hundreds of vendors – private and commercial – present their goods. The flea market attracts browsers and collectors and complements the funfair atmosphere with a quieter, search-oriented component.

Sunday Shopping

In parallel with the flea market, Soltau's shops will be open for Sunday shopping from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. This means the spring market combines three worlds of experience: funfair, flea market, and shopping. This combination attracts a wide audience and sustainably revitalizes the city center.

Embedded in Soltau's Event Year

The spring market opens the summer event season in Soltau, followed by the city festival in May, the Schützenfest in July, the summer cinema in summer, and other festivals. With its dense event calendar, Soltau is one of the liveliest festival locations in the Lüneburg Heath.
