Free admission open-air pop festival on the banks of the Singold – supported by around 250 young volunteers
The Singoldsand Festival is a remarkable model of volunteer festival culture in Bavaria. The organizer is the town of Schwabmünchen (Augsburg district) together with a project group of around 250 young volunteers who handle the program, stage construction, promotion, and catering themselves. According to the organizers, the goal is to "generate financial resources for youth work from youth organizations" and to give Schwabmünchen an independent cultural offering.
The festival grounds are located on the banks of the Singold river, in the middle of Schwabmünchen, with a sandy beach atmosphere, several stages, and a food truck area. Admission to the entire festival is free – financed by sponsors, grants (including the EU, Bavarian State Ministry for Science and the Arts), and catering revenue. The format combines "the idyll of a rural small town with the power of an international, vibrant pop world" (self-description).
The 2026 lineup combines German-language and international pop and indie acts. Performing on stage are, among others, Großstadtgefühl, The Gardener and The Tree, Future Bae, RAZZ, Savvy, My Ugly Clementine, Temmis, Marcoca, Import Export, and Ria Reiser. Thursday opens with Singoldsandkasten children's day: a dedicated program day for families with children's concerts, play stations, and hands-on activities.
Schwabmünchen is a medium-sized town in the Augsburg region with just over 14,000 inhabitants. The Singoldsand Festival is one of the town's most prominent cultural projects and surprises the industry and audience every year with its program depth – unusual for a non-commercial town festival in a small town.
Three days of pop, indie, and electro on the banks of the Singold – run by around 250 young volunteers from the town of Schwabmünchen. Thursday opens the festival with the Singoldsandkasten children's day, followed by Friday and Saturday, the two main festival days with a national and international pop, indie, and electro program. Free admission.
The project group will publish the exact stage times and order shortly before the festival on singoldsand-festival.de.
Free admission. Payment only for food and drinks on site.
Schwabmünchen is reachable by train from Augsburg Hauptbahnhof in approx. 15 minutes (RB / RE towards Buchloe). By car: A8 or B17 south to Schwabmünchen, then follow signs for Singoldufer. During the festival, the organizers recommend using the train and bicycle.

The festival is supported, among others, by the EU, the Bavarian State Ministry for Science and the Arts, and numerous local sponsors and partners.
