Sickingen Maimarkt 2026 in Landstuhl – A fresh start with a new concept: Dance into May, fireworks, Ferris wheel, beer and wine village.
The Sickingen Maimarkt Landstuhl is the largest spring fair (Kerwe) of the Sickingenstadt and will be presented in 2026 with a fresh concept after a reorientation. From Thursday, April 30th to Monday, May 4th, 2026, the Volksfest will shape the city center around the festival grounds. The event is organized by the city of Landstuhl in cooperation with local clubs and the Sickingenstadt promotion association.
Under the motto “We’re turning the Maimarkt upside down,” the event will be reorganized in terms of content and space in 2026. The aim is to make the format more modern, family-friendly, and attractive while preserving the Kerwe tradition. Free rides on selected action days, new stage formats, and a central beer and wine village are among the innovations.
Thursday evening (April 30th, Walpurgisnacht) marks the start: At 7 PM, the keg tapping ceremony officially opens the Maimarkt, followed by the Dance into May with live bands and DJs. The highlight is the grand fireworks display at 9:45 PM, illuminating Walpurgisnacht over the rooftops of the Sickingenstadt.
The rides on the festival grounds operate daily from 1 PM: a Ferris wheel with a view of Nanstein Castle, bumper cars, children's carousels, a haunted house, food stalls, and classic fairground attractions. Adjacent are the large beer village with regional beers and the wine village with Palatinate vintners.
Sunday begins with the ecumenical church service at 10:30 AM, followed by a morning pint, live music, and a family program. Monday is the classic Family Day with reduced prices on rides and a relaxed closing atmosphere.
The Sickingen Maimarkt 2026 sets new accents with its relaunch concept. From the Dance into May to the Family Day, the Kerwe will shape the Sickingenstadt for five days, combining tradition, family entertainment, and nighttime fun.
The detailed program for 2026 will be published on sickingenstadt-landstuhl.de and wochenblatt-reporter.de.
