Summer traditional customs evening on the Staffelsee with the Uffing Music Band
For decades, the Seefest in Uffing am Staffelsee has been a firm fixture in the summer calendar of the Garmisch-Partenkirchen district. Organized by the local Uffing Music Band, the shore of the Staffelsee transforms into a small festival ground on an August evening, focusing on traditional brass music, folk dance, and Bavarian customs.
Starting around 7 PM, the Uffing Music Band plays by the lake. Afterwards, the children's Schuhplattler and active members of the local traditional costume association present traditional folk dances. The festival thrives on the interplay between musical performances and the cozy atmosphere by the water. With good weather, the sunset over the Staffelsee combines with the music to create an atmospheric overall experience.
The Staffelsee, with its seven islands, is located in Upper Bavaria's Pfaffenwinkel region, between Murnau and Uffing. The largest island, Wörth, was the site of a monastery in the early Middle Ages and still shapes the lake's image today. The Seefest embraces this cultural-historical rootedness and combines it with Uffing's vibrant club life.
The Seefest is organized by the Uffing Music Band, which, with volunteer commitment, organizes the festival together with the traditional costume association and other local clubs. The event is considered a flagship of village customs in Uffing and attracts locals as well as holiday guests from the surrounding resorts on the Staffelsee.
The 2026 edition of the Seefest Uffing am Staffelsee is announced for August 12, 2026. The Uffing Music Band will provide the evening's entertainment starting in the early evening, complemented by performances from the local traditional costume association with Schuhplattler and traditional folk dances.
The venue on the shore of the Staffelsee connects the festival with the special atmosphere of the Upper Bavarian Alpine foothills. Detailed program points are traditionally published shortly before the date via the channels of the Uffing Music Band and the municipality of Uffing.
The detailed program for 2026 will be communicated by the Uffing Music Band in a timely manner via their Facebook page.
