Wippingen Marksmen's Association

The Wippingen Marksmen's Association is the local marksmen's association of the small, rural community of Wippingen in the northern Emsland. Like many small Emsland communities, Wippingen has its own Schützenfest tradition that shapes village life.

Dörpen Collective Municipality

Wippingen is part of the Dörpen collective municipality, a rural-Catholic region with a vibrant marksmen's culture. Several marksmen's associations shape the club life of the collective municipality, and the festival dates are coordinated so that friendly associations can visit each other.

Schützenstraße Festival Grounds

The venue is the festival grounds on Schützenstraße in Wippingen — the traditional location for club life. During the festival, the grounds become the center of village life, with a festival tent, shooting range, refreshment stands, and a family area.

Saturday, June 20, 2026

Festival kickoff with collecting the king, march to the festival grounds, opening evening with live music or DJ.

Sunday, June 21, 2026

Festival church service, bird shooting, king's banquet, festival parade through Wippingen, proclamation of the king, dance evening.

Club Life and Village Community

Like all rural Schützenfeste, the Wippingen festival thrives on the voluntary commitment of its members. From setting up the festival tent to running the refreshment stands, much is organized in-house — this makes the festival familial, personal, and approachable.
