Kampe and Ikenbrügge — Friesoythe Double District on the Canal

Kampe and Ikenbrügge are two smaller hamlets of the town of Friesoythe that share a common marksmen's association. The festival grounds are characteristically located on the canal — a particularly scenic location that frames the Schützenfest with water and heathland scenery. In the West Oldenburg marksmen's tradition, such double-district associations are common: when individual hamlets are too small, neighbors join forces.

King's Shoot in Advance on July 25

As with several Friesoythe marksmen's associations, the King's Shoot is separate from the main festival here: July 25, 2026 for the King's Shoot, August 8 to 10, 2026 for the actual festival weekend. This temporal separation allows for a concentrated marksmen's event during the King's Shoot and a relaxed festival weekend during the main festival, where the elected King and his court are celebrated publicly.

Festival Weekend Directly After the Main Festival

The festival weekend from August 8 to 10, 2026 is scheduled directly after the main Friesoythe Schützenfest (August 1–3). Thus, the Schützenfest Kampe/Ikenbrügge offers a kind of typical Schützenfest after-party for marksmen who haven't had enough after the main festival — and of course, their own club festival for the residents of the double district.

Festival Grounds on the Canal — Scenic Highlight

The festival grounds on the canal are a special advantage of this Schützenfest. While many festival grounds in Northern Germany are located among pine forests, Kampe/Ikenbrügge has the water scenery of the canal as a backdrop. This gives the festival its own atmosphere, especially on long summer evenings.
