Summer Schützenfest of BSV Waidmannsheil 1956 e.V. Oberhausen from August 7th to 9th, 2026 with King Couple Arno and Elke
The BSV Waidmannsheil 1956 e.V. is one of Oberhausen's younger but well-established marksmen's guilds – founded, like many clubs in the post-war era, by a group of returning marksmen brothers who re-established the old club life after the turmoil of World War II. Today, the club, with its own club house and a solid membership base, is one of the livelier BSVs in the north of Oberhausen.
The 2026 Summer Schützenfest runs from Friday, August 7th to Sunday, August 9th. The club's official calendar (bsv-waidmannsheil-1956.de/termine) confirms the date. The current King Couple – Arno and Elke – will pass on their reign to the new King Couple during this festive weekend.
Oberhausen cultivates a particularly dense marksmen's tradition. Over 30 marksmen's guilds are organized in the city area, some of which are more than 150 years old (e.g., BSV Königshardt 1769). The BSV Waidmannsheil joins this landscape and cooperates with other Oberhausen guilds in large festive parades and city events.
The club's own club house is the center of club life – weekend meeting place, training facility, ballroom. During the Summer Schützenfest, the grounds around the club house are expanded with a festival tent, stalls, and a fairground.
Marksmen's guilds like the BSV Waidmannsheil are not just shooting sports organizations, but social structures of the district. They support kindergartens, schools, and charitable projects, organize youth work (Jungschützen - junior marksmen), and are custodians of local customs.
Three days of Lower Rhine marksmen's guild tradition within Oberhausen's active club life. Festive parade with fellow Oberhausen BSVs on Sunday.
